The car will be maroon with black wings but I'm not sure what colour the engine bay should be. I think the bulkhead, battery box and the bits of metal either side of the radiator should be black. The underside of the bonnet and inside of the radiator cowl have always been black since I bought it, is that correct?
Also I imagine the spare wheel well should be body colour. What about the rear wheel arches? The inside of the car and floorpan is black so maybe the wheel arches should be too?

Peter, I don't know about 7s but my Ten had all those bits painted in cheap, bituminous, BLACK, chassis paint.

I am pretty sure the 1936 Mk1 Ruby I had back in the 'sixties, which was totally original paintwise, had body colour on the bonnet undersides and inside the rad shell. The bulkhead, wheel-arches and spare wheel well were all satin black (the inside of the spare wheel cover was body colour.

Oh good, so it is either black or body colour! Body colour would be easier to do

Oops, just caught up.
The inside of the bonnet is body colour.
My spare wheel well was painted black inside, but over the top of body colour, with the inside of the cover in body colour. However, this car is most definitely not original in colours.
Mud Shields always black.

Geoff - New thread started.
