The first three do, not sure about the others...
Anyway, enough off topic and apologies for moving the subject away. |

Come on guys!
We do this hobby in an attempt to balance the grief we get from the 'fairer' sex.
Bl@@dy heck, one of them alone can be trying at times, anymore and I think I would join a Monastry.
There are badges and bodges, and I've found a third on the N/S door, where the lower part where the hinge bolts on has had a section removed for whatever reason, and patched, leaving the door well out of alignment, with a massive gap at the top right corner.
Geoff - More photos to follow.
PS.
A question for Rick.
Do you want me to duplicate my post on the Friends site here?

Not good when you consider all the useful info/advice given.
So now thinking of a dedicated website, so any help appreciated.
I do have domain names for my cars, but haven't used them yet. _________________ Too many hobbies, not enough time!

hello there. I've been using your photobucket pictures as a reference and wishing I'd taken more of mine.
Mine had surface rust like yours. Some of it was like worms travelling across the steel, most odd. There was a hell of a lot more under the paint than showed on the surface.
The Friends forum is odd isn't it? You can't join so it looks like you have to type your id info in every time you post, seems a faff. The Austin Seven Owners club one has few members and no traffic, so not good either. |

By all means post updates on here too, it'd be interesting to follow progress.

Peter,
Glad you find my Photobucket photos help you, and I will keep adding as the site will act as my back-up.
Very strange about your rust.
There was no rust on the metal on my car that I could ascertain.
I will ask Dan Gelbart what he thinks.
No need to register to use the Friends site, and also no need, for me at least to keep entering ID/info as it there when I post.
However, I have had to do so on the rare occasions when I haven't been on the site for a week or so.
Rick,
Will do, and another back-up of info as well.
I intend using my CT-312 machine to TIG weld bodywork, especially the mangled N/S door lower section and lower hinge mount area.
Today will be spent hanging Unistrut channels from the Carport roof beams.
The Unistrut is used to run my Monopole 'Skyhooks' along, on which my Camcorder is hung.
Sounds complicated, but very simple, thanks to the design by 'doubleboost' on YouTube, that I modified slightly.

A "No Draught Ventilator" perhaps?

Peter,
I've racked my brain trying to come up with an explanation for its use but have failed miserably.
Your's is the best idea so far, as the rearward facing 'outlet' pipe will no doubt act as an extractor, unless there's too much turbulence.
I've got a manometer I will use once the car is back on the road to measure pressure inside and at the outlet.
Will be interesting to see what it shows.
Geoff - A bit of welding and the Unistrut will be up. _________________ Too many hobbies, not enough time!

My guess is that at some time there was a significant leak (in the roof, round the windscreen?) and the owner got fed up of bailing the standing water out! The pop rivets indicate the scoop is a later mod probably to stop spray coming up from the road, and any cover was probably to help keep the exhaust fumes out |

mikeC,
Would have to be of Biblical proportions
I'm about to be side-tracked once again, but this time to make something that I've always hankered after, but could never justify cost wise.
A spot welder!
Model Engineers' Workshop (MEW) Issue 229 has an article on making one from easily available parts.
Photos of progress on car soon.
Geoff - Skyhooks done. _________________ Too many hobbies, not enough time!

I have reorganised my Photobucket site, having added folders.
The Gumming Solution is perfect for stopping bare metal from rusting, and available from your nearest printer.
I discovered this product whilst watching Dan Gelbart's Coatings video
Posting photos here has been delayed as the powers at Photobucket appear to be more interested in buying up other companies than fixing , as getting links to photos to post, is now so frustratingly slow that I'm looking for an equivalent service.
Any suggestions please.
