car batteries and tractor one's i have found do not last much past the guarantee, i have never had a new car the nearest has been two that where 3yr's old and yes the original batteries lasted longer than replacement's, one the Ford mk3 escort diesel lasted 5yr's so i decided to get another Exide battery as per original but after 3yr's it went, every one after did the same my wife's car one lasted 17mth's only guaranteed for 1yr reason i was told it,s because of the very small size not much bigger than a m/cyl one, tractor one's last about 3yr's some of these have been cheap and other's dear i try not to get the cheapest as i know they are not very good , one battery dealer worker informed me that the owner's purchased batteries from any where in the world that was the cheapest i no longer get mine from them!.

I purchased a Tronic TLG 1000 B3 charger from Lidl some years ago - quite a big one which charges lots of different sizes of batteries inc PP3s for the smoke alarms. I buy all batteries from Lidl & have never had a leaky one or a problem. At £3.00 for four AAs you can't be robbed, cheers,JD.
