Hi all,
A few photos from Saturday's Oulton Park meeting. Organised by the VSCC, the racing included a number of the club's regular races, joined by several invited series. As a result, very entertaining races involving A30s and A35s running with the HRDC's Driver Academy scheme provided an excellent spectacle, as did a later race purely for A-Series powered cars, which saw hordes of A35s taking the scrap to Minis and the like.
All in all an excellent day's racing, despite the best efforts of the weather that - in the morning especially - tried hard to throw a spanner in the works.

Wish I'd known you were there Rick, would have been good to say hello. We were mostly over at Knickerbrook, making just one quick trip to the paddock at lunchtime and finding an awning to shelter under just in time when the heavens opened! VSCC race meetings are always very enjoyable, this one more so because of the post-war races; I'll post some photos when I've sorted through them. _________________ David

Yes it would have been good to meet up, we parked up overlooking The Avenue, and split our time between the paddock, and watching the racing as it came out of Old Hall.

I've created (I hope!) an album of my photos from Oulton Park here:

I was at Hilltop and also saw a flash of flame. To quote the ERA FB page, "Both were going very well until 3A fired a cylinder head bolt out the bonnet under boost pressure!!!" That's when Mark Gillies says he hit the kill switch... _________________ David
