It's got greedy!
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/06/30/photobucket_charging_400yr_3rdparty_pgs/

About to start charging a Usery $399.00/year for 3rd Party Hosting.
Time to look elsewhere as I'm stuffed if I will pay their ransom!
It does of course mean that all the links to posts will now become blank.

Is there another site that provides and easy to use link?
Don't mind paying, but not the Usery amount they want.

Geoff - Time start a website maybe?

I have downloaded all my Photobucket images (One single command) and up loaded them to Postimage https://postimg.org/ I have also replaced all my previous Photobucket images in this forum (as far as I can see) with the new Postimage links.

It's much easier to use than Photobucket as you can very quickly scroll through all your images (unlike PB with its tedious paging). It also retains your image name so not difficult to find and replace your old PB photos.

Thanks Peter,
Have that site loaded in a tab with others to look at, but your reply will make me try it first.

Thanks penguin.
I can remember editing my post apologising as I hadn't read John Dale's thread at the time.

Geoff - Maybe forgot to 'Submit'.

Hi John,

MikeEdwards pointed me to this and it does work and you do need to be patient but it will send you an email after it has completed the download. For me it did appear to not do anything on my first attempts but trying it at a different time of day got it going. Sorry about the image size. (Scroll right)

Peter

Hi Peter, thanks for that. I did look on FB & saw that page in their instructions page but couldn't find it(or possibly couldn't see it for adverts) round about my libraries etc. Will try again, thanks,JD.

Hi John,

I just copied everything I had on PB into Postimage because I was too lazy to check which of a repeated item I had used (probably both). Postimage baulked at accepting all 1200+ images in one go but took it in lesser bites. They say the maximum in a single upload is 1000 images but I'm not sure that is true.

Once they are in there you can run up and down the whole lot from end to end (as held in your cache) very quickly. Not like the tedious paged access of PB.

I'm not doing much in the way of shows this year. Skipped Thirlstane and Glamis but intend to go to Biggar. Only thing done so far was a nice run organised by S.A.V.E.. Will be doing the charity parade/show for the Lifeboats in North Berwick on the 29th July.

Peter

I was looking through a thread of 200 plus pages on another forum, all the photos were replaced with the pb link, someone at pb must be pissing himself laughing....for the moment. All that history messed up. I say for the moment because it's only a matter of time before they are no more.

I finally got a warning email from PB yesterday, telling me that some features of my account "will be disabled". Cheers PB, pity you couldn't be bothered sending the warning while it was "will be", rather than leaving until it should read "have been".

I hit that too, sent a reply saying they can stick the account where they like and they are dreaming if they think I am paying them that amount of money, doubt anyone will read it.

Hello,

I have turned off the automatic renewal for your Plus subscription and your account has reverted to a free account. You are now able to delete the account.

For security reasons, I have to ask that you log into the account and delete it yourself.

If you've made up your mind and you're ready to go through with it, log in, click on your username and select User Settings.
Click on the Account tab and then down at the bottom click on "Delete this account".

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Cool
