Time on my hand as I recover from the foot injury.

With Photobucket now part of the Ransomware brigade a solution to posting photos needs to be found.
Postimage works for now, BUT for how long I wonder.
Just look at all the sites and threads that PB have unilaterally destroyed due to their greed.

http://www.austinsevenfriends.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=14

Austin Seven Friends have come up with a solution in that the new Forum can now load photos directly from a computer.
However, only one at a time from iOS devices as they store ALL photos using the same name so that entails multiple postings.

Geoff - SHAME on the owners of Photobucket for their GREED!

Flickr is the best by miles, but nobody ever takes any notice of me. I had about half a dozen photo hosting accounts a few years ago and now I just have Flickr because it's the best in every way because it works with Apple. Presumably they police it and Apple is all about user experience and not bombarding you with infuriating adverts.

Just visit Flickr and see what's on offer.

Whilst I think the recent tact that Photobucket has taken beggars belief, should we really expect much from something that costs us nothing?

The old saying "there is no such thing as a free lunch" comes to mind!

Flickr is owned by Verizon not Apple, but if Apple recommend it, it'll be the best because Apple is selling the user experience where Google's android is an OS designed to analyse your internet habits and fire suitable ads at you. At the moment Amazon and Google are in a fight because one says the other is disadvantaging them.

You hate Apple all you like, but I think it's work paying for better service and less adverts.

I used to upload selected photos from my computer to PB, but of course now have had to look elsewhere. I suggest you try Flickr since instead of uploading a few I can upload a whole album, say of a complete restoration or the complete history of my car, and it is much easier and the big bonus is that Flickr give you 1TB (not GB) of free space. Try using that up in a lifetime! So, should people wish, I can now easily replace lost photos and add more if they want. For example, I uploaded 60 photos of my E-type to PB over the years but at the click of a button have uploaded 524 to Flickr.

The trouble is that you can't remember which posts you've added photos in.
If we could access the complete OCC forum data base it would not be difficult to make a complete replacement of all PB links with the equivalent in what ever new host you choose (so long as it still retains the original photo name.)

You are not alone Ashley. I have been a Flickr user for many years and have recommended it on this site as well.

Have now moved on to Flickr. I can't see myself backtracking over all my posts, and think that the Photobucket issue is fairly lamentable.
Can't fathom , however, how to embed a Flickr photo into a post.
Can anyone help.

Fathomed it!
