Space heaters are good for raising the temperature of the area but cause massive ammounts of condensation.
Use with care or better still a small electric heater placed at your feet as you work would be a good way to go

aye I do worry a bit about the condensation, I guess a quick blast just to take the edge off is ok, then switch it off before it runs for too long. If I was really organised I'd insulate the roof with that spray-on stuff, but that'd take a massive amount of work (and clearing out!)

LOL! I bet you`re right, insurance companies would have a FIT!
But when I think of "insurance" companies in the 1930s....I picture guys with Tommy guns wearing 3-piece suits, LOL!
As for "heated" garages, I have an opposite problem here in sunny Florida...
keeping it COOL!

I used to pay £3. 10s (act only) to insure my first car in 1957; mind you, my apprentices wage was little more than that. I think it was another 10/- to insure against fire and theft. Most, cars lived outside in the street; where there was little chance of damaging property in a fire.

Some of us used Methylated Spirit as antifreeze, which seems a little odd these days. Confused

I remember many years ago driving through a housing scheme in Glasgow with my daughter in the car. She remarked "Dad, why are the cars all parked out on the streets, and why don't they have garages?"
