Every time I try and paste an image on here from Imgur it comes as huge even if I edit it beforehand. The instructions appear to be ignored.

Having had a think about it, the page size with an Imgur photo also becomes huge. Peter managed to resize one of my previous images, so, it could be that the "fault" could be on my settings here.

It only happens on OCC so I would be grateful if somebody could tell what, if anything, I'm doing wrong here.

All suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

Although I tend to crop and resize many of my photos with Photoshop, I tried this screen grab and let Imgur do the resize.

Choose the option to "Auto Resize" 640 x 480, then click on the photo and choose the Forum/Message Board option (On my computer it shows in a purple box.

Note: I deliberately blurred my images on the screen shot shown below.

I always re-size before uploading, with Paintshop or something similar depending on the image. I don't have an incredibly fast connection, so it saves me time on the upload cycle as well as not having to be concerned about the download.

I hadn't considered Internet Speed, I read on reviews that some people refer to the Imgur system being slow to react.

I just ran speed test. 35 Mbps Download 12 Mbps Up. How does this compare. ?

Thank you for your answers gentlemen, I'm going to try something now :

It works!

You have to do it slowly, Imgur can't be rushed.
Problem solved, I hope, but what I can't understand is why I only have to do this on OCC.
