Quick question,

I just use a notebook. People have developed whizzy PC applications to log restorations but I'm not sure they ever became popular. Maybe an Excel spreadsheet would work, it'd also keep a log of costs (actually, maybe it's not such a good idea!!!!).

I annotate receipts with what they relate to (electrics, engine, trim etc) and keep in a bag with other related documentation for the car. BUT I also try to take pics as often as possible , store them on my PC locally, AND then add them to a build thread on the most relevant web site I can find, with notes about what issues were being addressed. Web site - one where you would logically go to ask for help on the car in question - this one for me. Showing others the issues you have met and solved is a good way to repay others for the help you have received. photobucket was good for this work, briefly went bad (demanded money for linkages), but is now OK again. Imgur is also OK so far. Going back to old threads of your own can be useful to remind you of things you have long forgotten.
See my thread here under 1926 Rover 9 , and
