Hi
I would imagine that you could also fit the roof top frame tent on the Grosvenor or Friary Estate conversions, provided the bottom tailgate went down flush with the floor and the upper rear window section would protrude into the tent.

I have one of the original Fiat Panda camping tents which has an opening that that fits round the tailgate and I actually used to camp in my Volvo 340, though that was a bit cramped because the rea section wasn't quite long enough to stretch out in in my sleeping bag.

Also added in, a British driveway scene that features - amongst others - a fine vintage Buick saloon in it.

A chauffeur knows his place - stood a discrete distance from a mighty Renault of the 1920s.

Years after putting up a photo of an early AA badge dug out of a field, a photo of another 'field find' badge, numbered just 5 different to the one already on OCC, turns up, and has been added in. Quite a coincidence!

That early AA badge is very interesting. I think the shape enclosing the AA letters is the cross section of a beaded edge tyre. Not obvious in later designs.

Ok I was 1 out, teaches me to rush these things, although I'm not sure your maths is quite 100% either (or maybe finger trouble) Smile Wink

Good point I'd not noticed that, I wonder if there's any reference to the early badge design in Stenson Cooke's anniversary book from years ago? I must have a look.

Details of a rare programme for a cycle race meeting held in Manchester, July 1924, have been added to the race programmes section of the site. Fear not, there is some car-related material to be found (Overland, Ford, etc).
