Ray,
Is there any wear on the stub axles? Can you rock the bearings at all on the stub axles? Replacing the hubs might be a good idea anyway if there is much wear on the splines.

No. The fit is quite reasonable on the spindle. As the inner races are compressed against the distance pieces to 80ftlb they should stay put. It's the outer race that relies on an interference fit to the hub and there has obviously been a problem there before.
I get the feeling I am going over old ground.
I don't mind buying new hubs if I have to; Practically everything else has needed replacement.!!!! |
