Junior has been working on a stop-go animation, using some of his toy cars and his imagination. It's now on Youtube. He doesn't think it'll get many views, if any, but hopefully that won't be the case Smile

Very well done! It reminds me of a similar race animation that I think came from the pre-war era and used model cars.

Very well done I say! I love the Dinky toys.

My 8 year old has been taught stop go animation at school club, he has made some similar type shorts but utilising his lego. One I recall was a building site and laying tarmac, all great learning for the younger one.

Thanks for the feedback gents.

I plan to upload a few videos to YT and gauge interest. Uploaded just now is a short, 10-minute, collection of period images featuring British cars of the 1920s and 1930s. Mixed in are scans of contemporary motoring publications, a few of which have appeared on OCC before, but most have not.

Added to the Model T Taxi photos page, a neat photo of a driver and his machine.

That is a most interesting, and unusual local body on the T. It also sports a spare wheel. That car looks to be much earlier than 1924, as it has what appears to be a modified polished brass radiator- not the ex-factory radiator top tank shape. I would guess that it is a 1916 (or thereabouts) model.

Another interesting feature is the spare wheel. Fords of that era had either fixed rims on their wheels (as this one does) or later, demountable rims, never a whole wheel to remove and carry as a spare. I think that this feature would be an after-market accessory available in the U.K.. It is a good feature for a taxi.

Great work Harley. I have also added a comment on YT and subscribed so as to see others.

An entry animation I have done for my planned model railway is on YouTube. I was working on that for the best part of a week, I think there were more hours sent to the trash than seconds of actual video. It was also a lesson in using video editing (Power Director 365)

Half-term has meant that junior had time today to have a crack at another short animation, this time with tin-plate toys. As before, he took all the photos (nearly 400), I helped string them together then we both went through the editing process etc etc together.

Some kind of garage-related vid is probably next on the list, if we can come up with sufficient "props" between us Smile

Example only because of prices, but maybe E-Bay or local.

Added in today, invoices for work done to a c1950/51 Humber Super Snipe that once belonged, perhaps, to a former BBC scriptwriter.

Today, junior took another 459 photos to create a road-car rather than racing animation, this time featuring Police cars hot on the heels of bad 'uns making their escape in a stolen car. As before, I helped him by putting it together into something vaguely YouTube-able, but all the ideas and story-telling are his own.
