Note the engine. Is that a V6 ?. If that was to be the actual tubular frame then surely people would not be seen dead in that car, or maybe they would. It give's one the creepy shudders..

Hi
It would appear to be a fibre re-inforced bakelite car.

Quote:
Lowell E. Overly, claims it was "…soybean fiber in a phenolic resin with formaldehyde used in the impregnation" (Davis, 51).

From Wiki
Quote:
Bakelite (/ˈbeɪkəlaɪt/ BAY-kə-lyte; sometimes spelled Baekelite) or polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride was the first plastic made from synthetic components. It is a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin, formed from a condensation reaction of phenol with formaldehyde.

Hi Penman. I first saw this on a YT Video and there are various articles about the car. Certainly Henry Ford "stretched the truth" in the video of him hitting the car with a hammer. I think that the prototype was destroyed so the composite could not be examined. What the people could not foresee was the internet.

No Peter, that's a standard Ford V8 of the period.
