This is a mystery to me. Has a vague look of a Humber about it and spare wheel cover reminds me of a Lagonda but can anyone identify it?

A friend sent it to me on What's App but now that I see it enlarged I think the photo is just distorted and it is actually a Lagonda.
Peter.

All three of these were sent to me by John McRobbie, who's grandfather is behind the wheel of the single car in the picture. These are from Fraserburgh in Scotland around late 1920's to early 30's. He would like to know a bit about them.
Cheers.

I'm struggling with those, Peter!
The first one showing a large tourer looks to date from around 1914-15. The car I would date at 1913-14, and it looks nearly new in the photo, possibly showing the driver in his new war-issue uniform.
The second, group photo, is also puzzling; if they do show a Fraserburgh scene, then the two cars with number plates are carrying trade plates, which might suggest they are brand new cars. The two on the right are both Model T Fords probably from the mid-1920s, but it's puzzling that they are both left-hand drive when I would expect UK cars to be Manchester-built and right-hand drive. The light car looks to be around 10hp -11hp, from the early 1920s, but that's a very shallow radiator ... I thought it might be an 11.4hp Argyll, but I cannot find an illustration to confirm or deny.
The third photo is of a Model TT (ton truck) again from the mid-1920s, and again apparently left-hand drive. It looks to be in very good condition for a commercial vehicle, so again probably fairly new. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Hi Mike.
John informs he his Grandfather was a mechanic so not the owner of the large car shown but later he started his own business. I suppose its possible that earlier in his career he was working for a dealership and hence dealing with new vehicles. Sadly John has very little else to go on.
It's possible they might be imports from the states?

Pete, MikeC is correct in that the truck is a TT and that the two cars on the right of the group photo are also Ford T's I can bring to mind the make of the other car there but have seen one before, so I'll try to work that one out. The single car photo could well be a French car, a Grégoire of just before WW1. They were an expensive machine built in fairly low numbers.
I don't know the significance of the S and A and the very low numbers on the plates on the cars in the group photo, but do the letters signify a location that might explain the left and right hand drives on the vehicles? _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

First thought was Standard, but the center riser of the radiator is too flat across the top.
Next thought one of the Talbot family, perhaps Clement Talbot of around 1920 _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

No, Dane, it's not a Clement Talbot. I would date the car as circa 1912-13, and that is a very distinctive radiator shape, but it has got me completely foxed - it's unlike anything I've seen. I shall look forward to further suggestions with interest! _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

Mike. Couldn't it be a Mors tourer from around 1912? |

YES Ray, I have been trying to remember when I had seen that radiator before, and I am sure you have found the answer. There was a Mors on a rally that I attended in about 1965, and I am sure you are right.
That Mors also had electric lighting, and it was the electrics that made me suggest a date of about 1920 _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

I agree, Ray, that looks like the one. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
