It may not be the most elegant of cars but specials often aren't. It reminds me of a car we built at school in Germany during the 1960s. It started life as a Ford Taunus, had its body removed, was tacked together and raced round the sports field until it expired.
I bet, like the car advertised, it was far more fun than the saloon on which it was based - which is what it's all about really, isn't it?

Clearly a lot of work has gone into it, fair do's, but I don't see it as superior to (presumably) the saloon car that the chassis once supported. As originality and a car's history is a big deal to me, I'd much prefer the original saloon (and I say this as someone who is also a fan of well-built specials, so long as no saloons were sacrificed any time recently in their build).
