Hi. I recently acquired a 1936 Morris 8 which needs rewiring. That’s not a big problem to me but I didn’t realise how hard it would be to come across a reasonably priced 6v CFR2 regulator. Anybody out there got one? Also looking for the horn press and indicator switch. If I can’t find one the alternative I’m considering is changing to 12v and an alternator but then it’s coil, fuel pump, starter and gauges as well. Anybody out there done that? Thanks Paul |

Hello Paul. I would be tempted to keep looking.
These things turn up quite frequently.

Oops - sorry ref breaching advertising rules - completely unintentional.
Going to my actual question - has anybody done a 12v conversion. Appreciate the need to change various bits but thing I’m not sure about is 12v starter motor. Is there a direct replacement with a pull button solenoid or would I have to go to an ignition switch? Anybody know what the replacement would be. Thanks |

If you convert to 12v the 6v starter can be retained, re the CRF2 its not a regulator its a cut out that also houses a couple of resistances, these resistances are switched in and out by the lamp switch.
Have you tried posting on the MR forum, there is bound to be a member who has one.
