The first car is a 1934 Chrysler CA
The second is an early 1930s Chevrolet Sedan

The Chevrolet is a 1929 or 1930 model. They were very similar. The headlights and front bumper are not original units. Also, the crank hole cover is missing. _________________ Owned: 1917 Ford Model T Touring

The Chevy in the photo has more hood louvres than on a 1929 car I saw. I kind of assumed they would have added more on a slightly later car? Is that not the case? |

Hi Ray, Are you looking at the louvers in the third photo? That is a different car than in photo number 2. At any rate, I believe both the 1929 and 1930 Chevy cars have the same or very similar number of louvers on the back half of the bonnet side panels . . . barely visible in the second photo. I'm not sure what make car is in the third photo.

Ray, I think the car in the third photo is a 1930-31 Ford Model A with some later wings and wheels grafted on it. The wings don 't fit very well, and the cap on the cowl looks like a Model A fuel cap. It looks like a put-together car to me. What do you think?
Regards,

I think you may well be right.
Understandably, your knowledge of American cars is much better than mine!
Cheers,
Ray. |

Yes the third photo is a Model A Ford, or very very similar. The fuel tank cap is definitely A, although the car should be sporting welded wire spoked wheels, and I agree, that the mudguards are not A.
It certainly looks like a 'dress-up' job to me. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |
