The first car is a 1934 Chrysler CA

The second is an early 1930s Chevrolet Sedan

The Chevrolet is a 1929 or 1930 model. They were very similar. The headlights and front bumper are not original units. Also, the crank hole cover is missing.

The Chevy in the photo has more hood louvres than on a 1929 car I saw. I kind of assumed they would have added more on a slightly later car? Is that not the case?

Hi Ray, Are you looking at the louvers in the third photo? That is a different car than in photo number 2. At any rate, I believe both the 1929 and 1930 Chevy cars have the same or very similar number of louvers on the back half of the bonnet side panels . . . barely visible in the second photo. I'm not sure what make car is in the third photo.
Regards,
Joe

Hi Joe. I thought they were one and the same car.

My mistake.

Ray, I think the car in the third photo is a 1930-31 Ford Model A with some later wings and wheels grafted on it. The wings don 't fit very well, and the cap on the cowl looks like a Model A fuel cap. It looks like a put-together car to me. What do you think?
Regards,
Joe

I think you may well be right.

Understandably, your knowledge of American cars is much better than mine!

Cheers,
Ray.

Yes the third photo is a Model A Ford, or very very similar. The fuel tank cap is definitely A, although the car should be sporting welded wire spoked wheels, and I agree, that the mudguards are not A.

It certainly looks like a 'dress-up' job to me.
