Back in the day the Mille Miglia used to feature locals in Fiat 500s or even Topolinos.
Is this the modern equivalent?
A 13:30 lap in this weekend's Nurburgring 24, in a Dacia Logan.

Le Mans Classic groups cars by age, just like the Course à l'Index had Renault 4's racing against Jaguars in the day. A few years back the late 50's class had a 750cc DB Panhard in the same race as the D-types, which had a qualifying time of 4 minutes 30 seconds. The Panhard had a time of 17 minutes. He was lapped three times before finishing his first lap.

From Wiki about this years Ring 24 hr.

Quote:
The race was the shortest-ever in terms of both laps and run time, with the winner only completing fifty-nine laps in less than 10 hours of green- and yellow-flag running as a result of torrential rain and heavy fog. It included a large number of different classes of car, varying in speed from Group GT3 sport cars to a Dacia Logan. Of the 121 cars that started the race, ninety-nine finished.
