Perhaps a little harsh on FIAT, but if car makes and models were in fact abbreviations, what would seem appropriate definitions for them given the car's track record, their stereotypical owner etc or are just amusing anyway?

I shall have to be careful here, but in 1992 we were hosted by Budweiser at Daytona for the 24 hours. After the race the barman was spouting off a number of these acronyms. I'm afraid the only one I remember was PONTIAC. Poor Old N****er Thinks Its A Cadillac.
