Hello everyone!
I've been working real hard all summer to get the old lady back on the road; and now it's almost ready to get off the stands! so excited!
There is one last issue i found out about when i drained the gearbox oil... found a lot o chips on the magnet!
I opened the lead up and all looks alright except for the first gear that looks in fact chipped.
Previous owner did mentioned first gear was noisy.
How bad is it? Shall I take it down and replace?
Anyone had similar experiences?
Really appreciate your advice!
Thank you so much,
D |

Check for slackness in the bearings.

Looks like it has been running out of mesh. You may have too much back lash. |
