A common problem with many Sinclair products.

No denying he was a very clever chap.

I listened to a piece on the radio the other day that a chap had a collection of 40 Sinclair C5's??

I never had any desire for his C5 vehicle but I did learn the first steps of basic programming on my ZX80 computer. I have no idea what happened to it.

RIP Sir Clive.

Why on earth would anyone want 40 of the things?

Hi Ray, A few years back I was in conversation with a guy at a hotel bar in Caernarfon UK, (short version).. he collected pencil sharpeners and was visiting the locality to pick up a collection of rare sharpeners... OCC is a fountain of knowledge,

I am not against collecting. Pencil sharpeners is fine.
I used to have a vast collection of matchbox tops; several thousand in fact, but they were all different.

There is someone I recall who collected Trabants... so it's obviously an affliction.! Laughing

Back in the early 2000's I was working in Athens and the main Volvo dealership there, Sarakakis Brothers had crates in their warehouse with brand new C5's which were unsold. They had many of them. I don't know what ultimately happened to them but the Greeks took a gamble they would take off and it didn't happen. Maybe this is the source of a collection such as described?
