Three "Look at Life" episodes on today, the first at 10am looking at British racing drivers (1959). One of the later episodes looks at lorry driving.

And now there's a web site where, presumably, you can watch stuff "on demand".

I've recently been ploughing through a series of short films called "Look at Life" covering some quite interesting subjects. One of them was billed as a look at what goes into our nuclear deterrent planes, lots of lovely footage of Vulcan bombers (the other thread reminded me to post this) and a voiceover chap saying "I can't tell you what's inside because it's secret" - not surprisingly as they were current when it was filmed.

They're all about ten minutes long, and cover such diverse subjects as how vinyl records are made, how steel is melted down and recycled into new steel, banger racing, submarines and a load more I haven't watched yet. I believe they're on the catch-up site.
