I did like the off the line performance of the 100E but changing from 2nd into top was just like skipping 3rd gear in a four speed car.

Over the weekend we headed to Oulton Park for the Supercar Pageant, my aim for the day was to look out for interesting older metal that might turn up. Fortunately there were plenty of interesting older makes and models amongst the newer cars in attendance.

Hah! I remember the 100E. With mine, I was never sure quite when to drop down to second; before the hill... or half way up! Neither option was something to write home about! Very Happy

Just a short vid, rooting through boxes of old spark plugs. The basis of a collection maybe?

A re-discovery of various print ads for cars & accessories in the early/mid 1970s has been compiled into today's upload.

Today's upload is of a recent evening meet, lots of old cars and later metal but naturally I focus on the more aged exhibits.

This vid covers recent progress on big Dodge (heat shields mainly), MGB (water pump, move etc), Standard 8 (tappets) and an evening run out in the Anglia. A few odd items of memorabilia also creep in.

A recent ride out in the Anglia to Wem's Vehicles of Interest show proved to be fun.

Very nice to hear the YB owner's description. I particularly liked the chassis numbers starting with the MG telephone number 0251.

I would like to say I think that YB restoration is a credit to him. Some purists will wince at the twin carbs - similar to the T series cars - but with the single carb as standard these rather heavy 1250 cc saloons were somewhat under powered; even in their day.

I would think the YB would compare quite favourably with the Riley RMA? Similar in many ways but completely different in others. Both are nice cars.

Wem was a great day, you even got a shot of my Green Meanie Escort, sadly I had just removed my Old Classic Car sticker as it had badly weathered. Having recently moved to Wem it is great having a show I can walk home for lunch if I want to!

Yes it's a fine day out, also try out the cafe down at Sleap if you want a Sunday afternoon drive out (assuming you've not been already).

Uploaded today is a collection of 90 photos featuring pre-war (designed and/or built) British cars in all their glory. As its the centenary year, various Austin 7s appear of course.

The Avro Anson from Sleap flies over us regularly, it is a lovely sight and sound. We meet my son and toddler grandson at the airfield for a brew in the cafe’.
