Number 33/50 was my very own Ginetta in 1974 and used as our wedding car in that year.

That petrol pump, as you say, looks fairly recent. I had the same problem with a new mechanical pump that I had fitted to my GT6. In the end I replaced the serviceable parts on my old pump.]

As to the troublesome item; I threw it far into the night - hopefully never to be seen again! Laughing

Today's upload gathers together 100+ images of classic hatchbacks, including cars with lift-up rear screens. A number of oddball prototypes also made it in.

Last weekend's visit to the Capesthorne Hall show is the subject of today's vid. Jaguar was the featured marque but there were many many other cars in attendance so overall a good meet.

The 1929 Swallow saloon at Gaydon is the oldest known example. It is one of just three 'Blackpool' Swallows to survive. I remember this Swallow being sympathetically restored many years ago as I was producing the Swallow Register newsletter at the time.

One interesting feature is the treatment of the door windows. On these early cars they slid sideways (like the Mini) but on my car (1930) they were operated by an ingenious cable and bobbin in the door; allowing vertical action.

Another - more obvious feature - is the radiator cowl which features a smaller, rectangular opening than mine. Later on the design was radically changed again but this time with a central chrome strip.

I don't think it is unreasonable to suggest that without the Blackpool Austin Swallows, there would be no Jaguar marque. Success of the coach built Austin Seven allowed William Lyons to move his operations to Coventry - and the rest, as they say, is history.
.
Very nice video with rag time piano accompaniment..
