Oh, that's a pity, that's another one I keep meaning to have a look at.

Crewe Heritage Centre morning meeting is on the 28th, I think.

We've been to that event today. Queued for more than an hour down the A5 to get into the event, then another half an hour to get tickets once we'd parked. If you go tomorrow, don't go down the A5, and buy your tickets before you go.

Event wasn't bad - more steam engines and trucks than I've seen together before at events like Chelford, Astle Park and Malpas, autojumble / trade stalls very similar, roughly a third more expensive to get in than those other events. Not sure I'd go again, but a decent day out to try it once.

I went in the exhibitors at 8am, I used my Waze app and came in on the B road opposite the public car park, then turned left and up for the entrants entrance, the rumour on the field was there was a smash on the Shrewsbury bypass. I heard the queue for tickets was horrendous. I agree about the amount of steamers on site, it was excellent to see them all. An Excellent show.

We didn't see any sign of a smash on the by-pass though we did wonder if there was something like that, but it did seem to open up after the rally traffic had turned off. The red lines for heavy traffic were still on my satnav today. If we go again, that B-road that comes in opposite would be a good choice. We did see some people abandoning the queue for tickets, though it moved quite quickly. I don't think I'd have put up with the road delays and then not actually gone into the show, though I have given up on things before now because of traffic.

There's a gathering over at North Rode on the 17th/18th September, plus the North Wales classic car show on Sunday. There's also a car meet organised in Hankelow on the green opposite the White Lion pub, Sunday 18th, 12-3pm according to a post on Facebook.

I went to Malpas steam rally last weekend, it was pretty good but the autojumble was smaller than it used to be. The layout suggested some stallholders had booked but not turned up, rather than there just being fewer bookings.

I went to the Hankelow meeting for an hour, turned out that the majority were modern cars with popping and banging exhausts being revved from cold mercilessly. Some nice looking cars, a handful of classics, I'm sure the neighbours will be moaning about it.

I went to the Crewe Heritage Centre meeting yesterday morning as it looked like the weather would be decent, and it turned out to be quite nice indeed. A decent turn-out, not as busy as in the summer of course with people having cars on SORN, and perhaps clashing with the NEC show made a difference, but enough to make it worth going.

Next one is on December 11th, which I might go to again if it's dry.

There's a meeting at Hopley House Farm Shop, on the Middlewich Road between Crewe and Middlewich, on November 27th. I haven't seen anything about this meeting before, but there are photos that suggest they have taken place before.

Thanks for the advance notice, will try and get over to that.

There are 2 years of road closures on that stretch of road, worth checking the route,

Yes, from Nantwich direction there would be a need to divert around the road closure. I imagine that on Sunday morning just going through Crewe wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Decent turnout at Hopley House yesterday morning, some cars I've seen before and some I haven't. A bit mixed in with the general public just turning up to visit the cafe or farm shop or whatever, but I doubt their shop-holders would be happy if they closed it off to give us more room. They were talking about holding another one at some point.
