Went to a local steam show yesterday, always lots there and often some unusual stuff.
Highlight of our day was seeing a recent Barn Find 1933 Thorneycroft Dandy lorry, they even had it running and drove it round the ring. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Just back from a lovely few days in Jersey for the Liberation Celebrations.
Plenty of old vehicles out and about and in the parades. We saw a lovely 46/47 Minx almost identical to ours and plenty of nice prewar cars ranging from Austins and Morris's to some big Rolls-Royce's. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

| Went for a ride yesterday with a friend in his recently acquired 1918 Studebaker, and down in the main street of "Donnybrook" his local country town we spotted a beautifully restored red 1950s Hilman "Californian" two door hardtop parked in the main street! Obviously someone pride and joy it looked very well done and when we came back we gave a wave to the older driver as we passed. "Simply Beautiful"! |

Went down to Beaulieu yesterday, My Father, Myself and my Son. 3 generations of classic enthusiasts!
It was a lovely day, lots to see but plenty of empty stall spaces which is never good.
We found a couple bargains, of note a 'Maltese Cross' mesh grill for my Fathers Land Rover.
We also allowed ourselves an hour or two to wander the museum and exhibits. Its the first time my Son, now 14 has been since he was about 5 or 6 so it was all new to him. They have a lovely shed outside the main museum where they have everyday cars from the 1960's onwards where people, including children can sit in and experience the vehicles.
There was an Austin/Morris 1800, a Hillman Super Minx, a Capri, a Mondeo, an Allegro and plenty others. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
