The sun is shining; the Seven Special is ready for the MOT, the new distributor and
starter motor are laid out waiting to be fitted to the Sprite (Froglodite run in six weeks time) the boat needs sorting and the Skate are off Herne Bay.
So much to do and I’m laid up with one of the worst colds I’ve ever had. I may be a week before I’m fit again. Oh woe, woe!
Don’t breath too close to this posting, you have been warned.

With my failing eyesight I have to get close to the screen, so your warning came too late!
Get well soon. _________________ Brian

Thanks Brian. I hear honey-and-lemon with a couple of paracetamol and half a glass of rum is very good for a 'web transmitted' cold.

My P2 was booked in for an MOT yesterday, but I was awakened with the rain pelting off the bedroom window at around 4.00am so decided that the P2 was not going out. The gritters were spreading salt on the roads the evening before so I took one of my modern cars for an MOT and had a straight pass.
Today I had no option but to take the P2 and luck would have it that it was a cold but dry morning. I have to drive about 12 miles to the MOT station (been using the same MOT station for 22 years) and I thoroughly enjoyed my first real drive in the P2 this year. She was out a couple of weeks ago but only for a couple of miles to make sure everything was working.
Another straight pass was obtained which made the drive home even better
This is Chris giving the P2 the once over

Best cure for a cold is a hot bath followed by a double measure of whisky, a spoonful of manuka honey and some boiling water. Sip slowly until finished and straight to bed _________________ ROVER

What's 'Manuka' honey? (I may regret asking this) |

Manuka honey is from New Zealand and is known for its healing properties.
I actually prefer Bermudian honey, it has a very slight liquorice taste to it.....wonderful _________________ ROVER

As you can see, getting something like this one on the ramp wasn't so easy...

I thought everyone knew that when us blokes get a cold it's known as "Man Flu" _________________ 1964 International Harvester |

Love the colour scheme of the vehicle on the ramp, there's something about 40's and 50's Americana that gets me every time! |

I also love that sort of car.
But paying so much petrol tax, to allow our scrofulous rulers to have deeper troughs to dip their snouts into; sort-of spoils them for me. |
