I only had this car for just under one year and made a huge progress on it. Most of it was not cosmetic and does not show however I did also restored the exterior as well.
Full list of work done to car:
Mechanical:
Replaced Throttle cable
Replaced Driver's Window Winder
Replaced Cluth
Fixed Mountings of steering column
Treated the underneath of car with rust proof paint
Reconditioned the engine (Service, New spark plugs, clean carburettor, new heavy duty leads for more power)
Changed ALL piping of exhaust (from front to back)
New brakes and also set brakes of handbrake
Reinforced bolts holding front seats due to previous corrosion and 2 snapped screws
Changed Radiator
Changed Distributer
Replaced all connections going through Alternator
Cosmetic:
Fitted chrome around front/back windshields
Installed back ORIGINAL Capri Louvers
Sprayed Rims
Installed aluminum valve caps
Application of further chrome to the interior/ exterior that the car would have had when comming off the assembly line
Installed gear leaver
Changed almost every interior part as former owner painted everything red!
Change of upholstery to an original and matching finish
Changed carpets
Installed F.O.R.D emblem on hood
This is what I just though of now. Hope I did not forget anything out!
So that's a total of a lot of $$$ put into the car. But guys, isn't looking at this car parked in your garage JUST ENOUGH to let you forget all the money put into it? let alone driving it!
Comments are extremely appreciated! |

All the Best,

Hi jipstar, seems like you went to gozo last thursday!!
I couldn't make it there (with the MMOC (mini club) but next sunday there will be another show at the excelsior grounds and its supposed to be together with your club, think I'll be there, can meet up if u're coming too, I'll be in the green mini (BMC076).
I live quite near to Karmenu (Classic Ford club president) and have grown up seeing him fettle the mark 1 and angle box on a regular basis!!
Last time I saw him told me he had bought an original one owner (unrestored) vitesse. Still waiting to go and have a look at it!! |

Thanks for all your sweet comments. Bob2, I am from Gozo, that's wht I attended the show. By coincidence though I was going up to Malta just now to view another Ford Cpari for my collection. It is situated at the South of the island. So I need to do a little travelling! |

Hey bob2, that's so kind for you, but being mostly in Gozo, I wouldnt be able to attend their meetings. Above all, i'm only a capri fan! Not a Ford one. Do you by any chance know of a capri for sale in malta? Even if it is for parts? Thanks |

Anyone old enough to remember the brilliant advertising slogan when this model first came out? "The car you always promised yourself". |
