Crying or Very sad
Just been for the last drive in my old Chevy Caprice. The tax runs out tomorrow and so it is the end for the old girl. It's a case of too many cars and not enough money to keep them all. She drives so nice with an ultra reliable 305 V8 and has never missed a beat in the 8 years that I have owned her. She has been so comfortable with all the creature comforts I like. But sadly she is looking a little bit tired with a leaking windshield, a heater that has a mind of it's own and the air con needs updating and rust in the bottoms of all four doors. Even though she has 8 months MOT, she is not worth much so she is being scrapped Crying or Very sad

BUT..... a part of her will live on. I have decided to install the engine and transmission in my old truck. The wheels and tyres and the new battery will save me a couple of hundred quid and the engine runs so sweet on LPG. That and the truck will be tax free, means I should end up with a reliable, cheap to run vehicle.

When you add it up. The parts I can use from the Chevy will save me more than the car it's self would sell for. I need four tyres for the truck at around £300. The battery is a new heavy duty one which cost £75. And a decent V8 and auto is going to cost £500-£600. So it would not make sense to sell my car for £500.
