after leaving it sit for a few days while other projects got attention, i made some progress on my '62 Falcon V8 today. after replacing the old 4lug drum brake setup last fall and installing yet another 5.0V8 in May, i finished up the Duraspark wiring and the alternator conversion today. actully got the engine cranked up and running for a short time; no radiator or fan belt so had to keep it short.
fabbed up a set of plywood interior panels for the '52 Plymouth Cambridge saloon yesterday and put a coat of poly on them today; disassembled, repainted and reupholstered the armrests in black leather.
and it's only Friday evening; still a weekend to go......

Sounds like good progress 62, if you are able to email me some pics I'll tack them onto your post if you like, it'd be interesting to see them both Smile

cheers, Rick

i sent off for and recieved a pair of replacement rocker panels for the Plymouth, from good old JC Whitney of Chicago USA; they're actually designed to be installed OVER the damaged/rusty/nonexistent rockers, so are cut a little "loose". i cut back the damaged portions, fabricated inner rockers (the rep panels are outer only) and had at it, hammer and tongs. they weren't exactly a "snap fit"; plenty of "tweaking" was applied, but all in all i'm happy with the near-result (not quite done, some more fitting of repair pieces to close them up) and satisfied that i got what i paid for.
the V8 Falcon received a new rad ($$$) and hoses, still needs the brakes gone through and proper exhaust fitted (open pipes about 14" long at this time) and then the serious work can begin.
mind that the last portion of the welding on the Plymouth was done between raging downpours on Sunday afternoon.... weld a bit, cover the tools, hide in the shed, wait for rain to stop, repeat as needed.

oh i was wet alright; humidity hovering the 99% mark AND the rain, and my own perspiration as well? perhaps one of the few drawbacks to living in the Coastal South.
