always nice to find something for free! it sounds like the project is coming along well, should be a good regular user (is that the plan?)

Well it will not be an everyday car since I prefer to use the modernish one I have to fulfil those duties, now even more than ever with my daughter and needing seat belts in the back but I plan on using it on sunday day outs and picnics etc..
Have got some links (phone nos) to a couple of pickups but didnt phone as yet cause when I mentioned this to SWMBO the look on her face wasnt very friendly (to say the least)!! Sad
No idea what the pick ups are though, one said its a Morris but thats all!!
Did u see the pics of the commercial vehicles rally held here rick, I posted them in the show section!!
Some really lovely pick ups and trucks, some nice dodges over here!!!

Finished the engine painting last saturday and also finished sanding down and de rusting the engine bay and put on two layers of hydrate 80 rust converter as per instructions. Sunday did not do anything as I took the green mini out for a drive and to meet up with other enthusiasts from our clubs!!

This friday will make a start on masking and painting the engine bay.
By the end of april I want this car running though the interior is yet to be done!!

Did not do much last weekend, got the minis out for re fuelling and check tyre pressure which was low, a little clean up and then used the blue one on sunday for a classic cars meet in the other side of Malta.
However managed to sand down the engine bay but had no rubbing compound with me forgot it at my other garage at home so will be rubbing it tomorrow, also managed to clean up some metal brak pipes and paint the ones underneath the car and clean up some rubber pipes and spedo drive cable.

A couple of pics pf restored servo and radiator;

Last saturday things progressed, I started by polishing all the engine bay with a rubbing compound and then some wax, and it turned up quite nice!!
Then had some metal hydraulic pipes to polish with autosol and steel wool, and some other rubber pipes to clean up and re taped some of the loom as the tape was past its best but the wiring is still in very good condition, then started re fitting restored things back, mainly, starter motor, dynamo, pulley and fan, radiator, hose pipes, servo, and air filter box (incl new air filter).
So the passenger side of the engine bay is now sorted, next wkend will turn my attention to the other side and need to buy, new plugs, HT Leads, distributor cap, engine oil and coolant.

Still need to re fit the master cylinders and pedal box and thermostat housing which are not ready yet, still have to paint/ polish them!!
Will try and sort them this week after work!!

If all this is ready by next saturday we'll be trying to start it!!
Hopefully it will not refuse to!!!!
fingers crossed!!!!!!!! Wink

Well its been a long time since I updated this but progress has slowed down a bit!! Sad

However the pedal box and master cylinders are back in and hydraulic pipes connected, side chrome trim is back on bar the front wings which need to be re drilled (something I am afraid of doing on fresh paint), the roof guttering did not have the chrome trim as this is a deluxe model but managed to find some for sale locally and its now on the car though one side will have to come off again since I made a mess of fitting it!! Sad

The carpets and under felt together with the centre console are out as well and am quite chuffed with the floorboards as only the front half needs painting since a repair has been done this time and in the past an other had been done and the front half was painted in red oxide and left like that!!
The rear half is almost intact, only needs a clean and a polish.
Undecided whether to paint it all or paint only the front half and leave the rear original!!
Any suggestions?
