Just a few pics of my 1969 Austin 1100 - some of which I'm sure she really doesn't want you to see. These pics were taken with a very basic camera on a phone so I apogise for the quality of some.

Bought this car in August 2006 then left it untill I started work on rear subframe June 2007. Started hacking away at the cills (what a horror story) last autumn then the weather put me off till spring. Just finished welding the cills and floor last week.
now I need to bleed brakes and take it to the garage for suspension pump up. Had to replace o/s suspension pipe so I hope it holds when they pump it Embarassed

In an ideal world this car will be on the road SOMETIME in the summer as it is 40 this year.

I am not a perfectionist i just want a workaday 1100 to knock about in so don't expect lots of shiney polished bits....it's just not me. Wink

Interesting to see the photos!

dad's hoping to get his VdP on the road this summer, I don't think it's a million miles from being ready

Got the car turned round this afternoon - no thanks to the petrol pump Evil or Very Mad
Fun and games lowering the rear end but rear wheels sat on bump stops without making an unwanted entrance through the boot floor.

More fun reversing on to ramps with no ground clearance - I put my foot down and hoped for the best.

Great photos; thanks.

Why not make yourself a grease-gun based pump?

or you are welcome to use my pump, if you are local.

I have pumped three of my cars up with mine. The gun was "thrown out" by a neighbour and the adapter made up by an engineer friend.

You should put this in your profile, as useful when selling stuff etc.

Stripped down faulty petrol pump last week to find badly pitted contacts, I filed them flat re-assembled unit and ...phut..phut..phut Razz for how long i dont know as there is not much left to contact now!

Although I've not had this car on the road since I bought it, I do know the previous owner and he used it every day often cruising on the A55 expressway daily for an hour so I knew it was mechanicaly 'ok' - However, I've never been happy with the biting point of the clutch and the action of the pedal, this came to the a head when reversing up the ramps last week when all feeling went from the pedal. I stripped the master cylinder down to find the return spring had snapped in two places. bugger. internet. Power Track Ltd. £5. Razz

Re-assembled and tried to bleed system but no luck - turned out to be a failed flexable hose. It was past it's best and I think I twisted it too much when re-assembling system. Embarassed

Had a look in my spares and found an Austin Maxi master to slave plastic hose and after carefull re-shaping of the metal pipe at the master end managed to make it fit.

The clutch works beautifully. Cool

off the ramps and awaiting suspension pump up.

Decided not to go down the grease gun pump route as my local garage GMS autos have a pump and charged me £40 for cash.

Jeez! I thought the damn car was going to knock it's self to bits when I drove it the 1/4 mile to the garage and I didn't go over 20mph...
I hope my welds have held ok, I haven't dared to look yet!

Few bits and bobs to do then MOT time on Fri 29th.
