Have never been happy about the braking system on my Seven Special and have been pondering for the last ten years on how to improve it.

Just bought a set of pukka Morry Minor hydraulic conversion backplates on ebay. They should be an improvement on the bodged plates I have at the moment. Will keep you posted on the progress.

Don.

Hi Rick,

The conversion kit didn't turn out to be as 'pukka' as I hoped it would. So I returned it.
I have now decided on plan 'B' which consists of keeping the hydro/mechanical system but fitting semi-Girling backplates and mechanisms on the rear. I already have a spare axle assembly with the system fitted. So the conversion shouldn't be too difficult. I Hope.

Will keep you posted on the progress, but at the moment I'm told, by the memsahib, that my priorities must be building her a summer cabin, in the back garden.

Don.

PS I meant to ask (maybe there is an old thread already, not sure?), what spec is the engine in the 7?
