I'm about to make a start on replacing the cylinder head gasket on the 1500cc iron headed Hillman Hunter..i am waiting for a Manual (ebay) but it's not arrived and i want to make a start.
Does anyone have the tightning sequence and torque settings for the cylinder head on this car ?
Also looking for the sequence and gap size for the rocker arm/pushrod.
Cheers. _________________ Rust Junky & oil addict. |

If it's the same as the 1500 and 1600 iron head engines from Minx and Super Minx ranges then the torque is 45-48 lb-ft
as follows:
Front--7--5--1--4--10 Rear
Front--9--3--2--6--8 Rear
--------------Ports
Clearances are 12thou inlet 14 thou exhaust.
Just turn the engine until the valve you want to adjust is fully open then give it one complete 360 degree rotation and you are guaranteed to be on the back side of the cam. _________________ http://www.nostalgiatech.co.uk
