I wanted to widen the wheel base on my B by about an inch or so. Any advice on how to accomplish this? |

You can fit the after market wire wheels and you may have to remove some of the rear wheel arch rebate. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

You used to be able to buy spacers with extended bolts, the spacer was a disc with slotted holes to fit different PCT's and the bolts had a head the depth of the spacer with a thread on the inside that screwed on your exsisting wheel studs, the spacer stopped them unscrewing and you put your wheel on as normal. Obviously no good if you have wire wheels. |

Spacers and wide wheels put extra strain on the wheel bearings and steering joints which may be marginal anyway given the car's "pedigree" _________________ Rover P2

I wanted to widen the wheel base to accommodate an added design feature. I do have and want to keep my wire wheels. I wanted to add about an inch around the fenders, and build up the metal coming up the top side.
I found this picture on the web and love the way the car looks.

Maybe it would be possible to have your wires rebuilt with a wider rim. |

Humm not to my taste, looks like an attempt at a Sebring MGB but lacking in taste and I really think that modern low profile tyres on classic cars look awful but that's just my opinion. Each to their own eh? Look for Sebring MGB/MGC wheel arches and you'll get what you want. |

I agree, i am not looking to put on new rims i just want to add the trim around the fenders and keep my wire wheels. But if I add the trim i think my wheels will be too deep into the well? |

yup I think it would look a bit odd, with flared arches and standard wheels and track. If you're going down the modification route, how about some big Minilites, a la Sebring? As others have said, I'd be wary of using spacers due to the loads etc

Much too grandiose for me. I am looking for something a little more subtle. I wanted to extend flare about an inch at a maximum. Thus looking into the wheel spacers, figuring if I could get an additional half to three quarters of an inch I would be ok. |

I did find some information on cutting out VW rabbit front fenders and Dodge Omni rear fenders to achieve the desired look, and experience? |
