I have an worn SU carb that requires spindle bushes, I have fitted these before but then had access to a lathe so not a problem, has anyone devised a clever way of fitting these using just hand tools?
The problem is you have to drill and then ream at exactly 90 degrees to the carb body on both sides (must be in line) and of course in the right place !, otherwise you can end up with a very tight throttle spindle or a butterfly that wont open or close effectively.
