Heres a good one for all you tecnical people. My Riley 11/2 1953 RME has an oil problem. If I run at 60 mph the rocker covers fill with oil which in turn leads to low oil pressure and oil coming out onto the exhaust manifold, I am informed that this is because the head has been machined too much and the oil gallery's on the machined side of the head are too small and do not allow the oil to return to the sump quick enough. Is the only answer a new head or what can I do, I dought there's enough material left on the head to machine them deeper. ?javascript:emoticon('')

The problem may lie with the fit of the tapered oil feed "studs" that should locate nice & tight in the rocker pillars but won't if the head has been skimmed. They can hold the pillars proud of the head surface; not too difficult to overcome with basic workshop practice. Have a look at this area; you could make gaskets to go under all the pillars to reinstate the required clearance.
If you did want to go down the head swap route, I may just know someone who could help......
