Hi

I purchased this this morning:

A DRUMMONDS 1908 model, not collected it yet, but when I do I will try to remember to post some better pictures. In the pic above it looks tiny, but aparently it is 5 foot long!

Cheers

Hi

Well we are going to collect it in a volvo, not mentioning any names and collecting a large 4-5 foot high fly press at the same time, I thought a trailer may be a good idea, but I have a feeling we will be putting stuff on the roof. I will make sure that if we kill the Volvo it isn't my fault!

Cheers

hehe watch you don't scratch his paint, you know how he cares for that Volvo Wink Very Happy Very Happy Laughing

I bought some odds n sods this morning, a few tools, some old oil-change-reminder stickers and a 10 Year Tested (ie forerunner to the MOT) screen decal from the early 60s, which I put on the Devon's screen this afternoon. Also picked up a new Meccano clockwork motor still in its box, a couple of old keyring enamel badges, and a really nice 1930s dealer-supplier plaque that would have been screwed to a car's dashboard. Oh and an ancient tin motorcycle crash hat (maybe WW2 era), and a programme from the Oulton Park Gold Cup in 1960 Rolling Eyes more essential goodies!

Hi

Posted these in my restoration thread but here it is again:-

I have collected my new toy, it is fantastic, see the pics below, the only thing is that the chuck is missing, the chap new nothing about it, but said that he has seen something like what we described it as, knocking around. We scoured his garden and the old workshop that he found the lathe in when he bought the property recently, (he has just had the workshop taken down as it was asbestos. We couldn't find it, but he said if he does he will let me know! He thinks the people who took the shed down probably took it!

Bit of a blow but whilst searching for the chuck found a vice, belt driven grinder and motor and a few other tools and tins, asked for them and he said take them, so got some freebies. Made up for the missing chuck and if he finds it, it is a bonus!

We had to leave a real nice bench that he offered us free, it had great old cast legs, but we had no saw to cut the top off. Bit of a shame as they were real heavy duty, and would have been real solid, and free, but we decided to leave them behind. Very hard for a hoarder like me to do, and I am already regretting it, in that they may get scrapped now!!

Cheers and hope you all like it, I know I do!!
