Yep, I do! During summer anyway. I used to use it through winter as well, but it just gets used as my everyday and holiday car in summer now, usually doing upwards of 1500 miles a week when I am on holiday!

However, in my 3 1/2 years of having it on the road, I have never come across another on the road, only at a few shows, and mainly; A40 club meets!! The club did an enquiry to the DVLA who if I remember correctly it claimed in 2007 that only around 5-600 were on the system; of which only around 150-200 were actually taxed and on the road.

Agreed it's a long time since I saw one on the road. I found a Mk2 deposited in a driveway approx 4 miles from here recently, I spoke to the lady of the house, it belongs to her stepson (I think), it's not for sale and is just left outside and visibly deteriorating. I don't think it's been on the road for a few years.

Mine is undercover and not been on the road since the early 1990s, if I could find one or two good steel front wings, it'd then make resurrecting it a lot easier as I've already got the other bits it needs.

There's one not far from here, it's used occasionally although I've never seen it move. It is very original and has a very low mileage, about 34,000 I think. The lady at the house said it belonged to her son, who was given it by someone (lucky %£$%£$!) It has a Basildon Hospital staff parking permit in the windscreen.

Note the local toerags' theft attempt of the AA badge!

Great photos RH, it looks like it wants catching soon and preserving before the tinworm gets a proper hold.

I've seen those pics of that car before, Richard, but I forgot how nice it was! Looks remarkably solid and is crying out for a good clean and polish! Lovely colour scheme, that one - possibly my favourite for a mk1 car. Black over Farina Grey with the cream-piped red vinyl; lovely!
