Just though I would pop on here and introduce myself as a new user. I am a very active member over on theminiforum but my interests stretch much wider than just the mini. My own classic is a 1985 mini Ritz which is currently a project which will be built to light weight road/track spec with a 998 turbo engine. It's a fairly low budget build but should be a good fun little car by the time it's finished.

I'm very active in the mini show scene but would like to get more involved in the wider 'classic car' scene.

I will post up some photos of my project and turn this into a build thread as I go.

Thanks
James

It was although not a small special run. It will also be fairly heavily modified, nothing over the top and no body kits or any of that nonsense! Just a stripped out lightweight car which will look fairly underwhelming from the outside but should be a great fun car to drive!

Me and a good friend of mine are also in the early planning stages of opening a kind of 'mini clinic' in the Midlands so I hope to be making my passion/obsession into a full time job before the summer! haha

Nice to see that this forum is fairly active! A lot of forums I have joined in the past have had one or two regular users! I think I'll enjoy it here!

Hi Beej
Have you raced minis before.
I ask because I knew someone in the late 70's who raced minis, and his name was beejay.
Knew him in Collindale N. London.

Never raced minis before (although I would love to if I had enough time and money!) and on top of that my parents didn't think to have me until 1991 so I even missed the 70s! Also a terminal Midlander. Sorry to disappoint!

My names actually James, the story behind BJ and subsequently Beej is a long and dull one from my childhood involving my time of birth and a large jumbo jet!

I have actually stopped work on my Ritz at the moment as we have taken on a Wolseley Hornet Project. Some pictures.

We do actually restore and repair minis for a living so there are often lots of changes in what I can spend my time on.

A mark 3 hornet!!, same colour scheme as the one a friend of mine bought recently!!

Its in much better condition though, a lovely one owner example, shame it has had a retrim in vinyl rather then the nice leather it had originally!!
He's having some problems with the hydrolastic suspension but should be ok by the end of the week and on the road by the end of the month.

Well, believe it or not, this should be on the road before the end of the month, it had been dry stored for 8 years, we stuck some fuel in and hooked up a battery and it fired straight up!

It's totally stripped down now and will be in the spray show by the end of next week, we have all the trim for it, just need a good leather interior for it and it will be ready to put a ticket on!

Still on the hydrolastic set-up and unless it is badly leaking it will stay that way. It will (hopefully) be restored to totally standard spec.
