p.s. I found the YouTube shots interesting on account of this..

This is only the second one I've seen. The first is the one my father gave me. It's a clockwork mechanism that drives a system of electrical contacts to generate Identification Friend or Foe signals. My father was an airframe rigger during the war and he was interested in clocks.

Shades of the "Lady be good" me thinks, if you look the engine is still there but the prop and the reduction gearing at the front has broken free most likely on impact

I like the comments about souvenir hunters.
Will they never learn.

Why post world wide before recovery,or start of, or at least some form of security.

Having told the world of this find I will be very surprised if there is anything to recover if and when they get permission to recover.
