HI RICK,THANKS,YES IT WAS RESPRAYED LAST YEAR AS NEAR TO ORIGINAL COLOUR AS SOME OF THE OLD PAINT HAD FADED IN PLACES,THANKFULLY VERY LITTLE RUST TO COPE WITH

YES ALMOST THE SAME,THERE WERE A FEW MODS ON THE LATER MK1s,LIKE THE RUBBER STRIPS ON THE OVERRIDERS AND THE MOVED THE FUEL FILLER CAP,DONT KNOW WHY THE CARBS WERE CHANGED AS WELL FROM TWIN ZENITHS TO SOLEX.

My car was built week commencing the 8th May 1964.

As mentioned the later cars had some modifications i.e.
The overdrive switch and column shroud is different.
The fuel filler was moved further back.
Carburettors changed.

MINE WAS 1st REGISTRED 1st OF MARCH 1963,I BELIEVE PRODUCTION STARTED JAN OR FEB THIS YEAR,SO IS QUITE AN EARLY ONE.I HAVE TRIED TO GET EARLY HISTORY BUT I WAS TOLD A LOT OF INFOMATION HAD BEEN LOST.

Looks like a lovely job, I've always liked these cars since my brother had a Sunbeam Rapier.

Its the old field guns during the war old chap...makes one hard of hearing don`t you know.

On another point I like Rootes cars...so much better than Fords offerings...but so much under valued.
I have a ford 1600E,very sought after car but,the quality is not a patch on my Humber Sceptre.
And the styling of early Rootes cars is so much better than Fords at the same time.
