It's not an Airfield it was a RADAR base.
Now a radar museum.
Google Post code NR12 8YB
Most, if not all, buildings are grade 2 listed.
It was on the local news this evening.
I think the developer jumped in before he realised he couldn't bulldoze it down for housing |

Roger - thanks for the explanation - I was looking for any sign of the runway, and thought the farmer had done a really thorough job of ploughing it! _________________ Brian

It was on Look east Friday 1st Feb.
I've been trying to get a link.
Just hope the museum can stay open, I was with Radar in the artillery and had an uncle who was in R&D on radar with Marconi. |

Ignore the cost. Look at the advantages. Secure, plenty of workshop space, test track, ample parking, accomodation for all Old Classic Car Members and radar to spot folk coming to borrow something.

It's not an Airfield Peter
It is an RAF Radar station, or was.
Not much of a test track

Hi Peter
I sometimes wonder how we got on before this www thingy as well.
Another 12 hours to run on the bidding, only one bidder so far,
go for it, you'll only kick yourself if you miss it.
Hope the museum is not disbanded and broken up. |
