|
Hi I hope it's ok to post this here
A fellow peugeot enthusiast in France has contacted me for help
as follows:
Hello Steve,
I have a friend who will do the Monte Carlo Rally History, next year in Austin FL1 Taxi (like Tony Brooks, 1961).
But lacks parts including a front door and left wheels to equip them with additional nails.
Would you have good addresses in England so he could buy parts not too expensive? See possibly retrieve a wreck.
Thanking you in advance.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received
Thanks Steve |

Hello again,
No response so far, has anyone got any suggestions of classic breakers yards to try?
Thanks Steve |

& a great article here, from one of the Forum members. Scroll all the way to the end for a list of sites, including a couple in Holland & Germany.

Mike & Rick,
Many thanks I have passed all the information to Gabriel, I'm sure he will find something suitable soon enough.
Thanks Steve. |

Some-where recently, on the Forum, there was a picture of a derelect FX3. The wheels off that might help, but there is a slight difference in dishing. The FX3 wheels may cause the tyres to rub dangerously on the track rod ends of an FL1. I think it was to do with the tighter taxi turning circle and the use of 575/16 tyres instead of the 600/16s on the FL1. OK for the rear though.
I do have two wheels which may or may not be both of the same dishing which I MIGHT be persuaded to loan on an absolute guarantee to return.
Cannot help with a door.
