Travelling to a gig yesterday, I spotted a lovely two-door Oldsmobile from around the mid sixties, in a cream colour.
Also, on the bypass, a late 40s/early 50s lowrider thing with a serious roof chop, in a red oxide colour.

Off topic:

Last night, my band played a gig at a Masonic Lodge in Yarmouth. As we were waiting for the speeches to end so we could play, I noticed one of the large framed group photographs of it's members in the hallway.
Sitting dead centre at the front was Albert, Prince Of Wales.
A lodge member went on to explain, saying that Albert actually had a tunnel dug between the lodge & the hotel next door so that he could sneak away & have dirty scenes with his then mistress, Lily Langtry!

And all because he didn't want his mother to find out.

Ah, bless.

On a lighter note, I also discovered that the King, the Tsar & the Kaiser were all first cousins!

No wonder there were world wars!

Did he have the 'dirty scenes' in the hotel, or lodge? often wondered what they got up to on lodge night.

I don't think lodge rules extend to such goings on.

Too busy exposing their own left breasts, probably! Laughing

It's ok as long as they stick to such harmless eccentricities and leave the corruption to the politicians. (sorry about remaining off topic but this is one of my hobby horses.)

Interesting drive back from Hinckley yesterday, but unfortunately no photos. We had just got on to the A5 and within a few minutes a prewar Jowett Bradford lorry (that is the right term Smile ) came by in the opposite direction, followed shortly by a prewar Aston Martin sports. Just before Tamworth we overtook a late 50s Standard Vanguard being transported, and just off the A5, we passed, again going the other way, a Vintage Lea Francis sports.
Not bad for a 30 mile journey at Friday lunchtime. Very Happy

Saw over 50 jags today including 4 MKii at the North east Jag meeting at
Wallington hall.

Well worth the trip of 120 miles but next week will be better as it's the northern jag meet at some big NT hall near Leeds...... how do you know i'm tired....lol.

Yesterday I spied 3 different Riley RMs towing caravans (modern ones), presumably as part of a club 'do', and also a 20s tourer - make unknown - cruising sedately along, roof down naturally

A Ford Prefect on the A689 heading out of Hartlepool 17th July.

It looked really well cared for.
