A lovely early 50's Morris Oxford passed us tonight, it was quite dark but the car looked pretty tidy.

There was a car show not far from ours at the weekend, we spotted couple of classics drive by. A lovely light Blue Singer Gazelle and a custom Model A Ford to name a couple.

This one, in fact.

And a blue NSU Ro80 that I think I've seen before, but my dash-cam doesn't want to give me a decent photo of. The Metro I think I mentioned a few weeks ago.

Junior and I had a quick tour of a gent's small collection of vehicles this morning, including a (just) post-war Standard 8 tourer, a trio of vintage motorcycles, various tractors, and a fine selection of memorabilia, early radiators and grilles etc (including one from a Vulcan lorry and another off a Cubitt car). Interesting stuff.

On which subject where did all the Ford Ka's go? They were everywhere, then nowhere.

Quite a few round hereabouts?

They tended to get rotty shells, after a while, and were treated very much as 'disposable'....one of those cases wherein the cost of repair exceeds the perceived value......which has resulted in much of our daily lives getting sent to the scrap heap [dumped?] instead of repaired and re-used.
Which is a real pity, as the KA had truly excellent handling characteristics [Fiesta based ''chassis''] , without the excess weight of Fiesta or Puma...
The older Ka is an excellent performance weapon, if stuff like club level motorsport is being considered?
But I believe, ''street credibility'' is the most important aspect in a car these days....sadly.
Or, maybe not so sadly? Since, it allows those of us enthusiasts who are a tad more impecunious in our tastes, to get kitted out with decent driver's cars?

Saw a nicely restored mid 60's Ford Thames Trader the other evening, heading down the A303 towards Chard in Somerset. She was heading along quite nicely on the dual carriageway.
