Saw an old Metro parked on a driveway in Fleur-de-Lys ("Flower", to the locals) this evening. Terminally rotten - it even had holes in the roof - and rather too modern for my tastes, but when did you last see one? Nearly bought one in the early noughties as a cheap runaround, but the brakes needed work and I made the mistake of opting for a shed of a Fiesta instead as it seemed a better prospect for the Monday morning commute... Laughing

I remember my Dad setting fire to my Mum's Metro when he forgot to disconnect the battery when doing some welding. Probably did her a favour but she didn't think so at the time! Laughing

A couple of old motorcycles today - a chap who lives reasonably close had an old BSA in the garden on display, and a different old motorcycle rode past an hour or so ago.

It's a real hot-bed of old white Volvos around here.

I have just walked up our local playing fields with the children and my friend from the next village was out and about in his Ford Pop 103E. Its a local Somerset car and he has kept it in 'as found' condition.

A green TR6 followed me for a short while this morning.

An A reg, dark brown Talbot Horizon drove down Garstang High Street at about 5.30 tonight. I haven't seen one in years.

Out on bikes earlier, an orange Mk2 Escort (mildly fruity sounding) drove by. I also said hello through a hedge to a long-term "rested" Moggy 1000 saloon that's not far from here.

A BMW 328 sand blasted and rough! Riveted patches and poor welds, but the car is up for a full restoration in a country barn near me. Lovely 2 litre "Bristol" engine, as it became after the war.

Passed a nicely turned out Rover 110 on my way home tonight. Was stopped in a fuel station on the A303 near Yeovil.
