I passed a well presented Orange Morris Marina on the back of a recovery truck tonight. Possibly off to a new home?

Yes, they used to be at the garage on the corner in Hough. I remember going there with my Dad and collecting brochures, and I'm not sure if his 1300 came from there.

Tidy looking Wolseley Hornet passed along the street this afternoon (Sat) as I was heading off to work. Maybe it had taken the last slot of the week at the local classic friendly MOT station, but I don't know it as a local car.

I saw a shiny red J40 pedal car on the back of a full-size recovery truck today.

It's a nice sunny day here today so decided to take the SS out for a 50 mile run around East Lothian. Exchanged waves with a proper oily rag Cricklewood open Bentley. Closing speed about 100 mph so didn't catch the number.

Out for a walk down the local river this morning we found the remains of an Austin A50 in one of the farms on the opposite side.

They have continued to clear away the bushes and brambles at the farm we walk near with the dog, we could see right in today.

We spotted 2 two-tone A55's, a Mk2 Morris Oxford, at least 2 Vauxhall FB Victors, a Morris 1000 pickup, a Ford Zephyr, some 70's Renaults, a couple of Rover 100's and lots of tractor remains too.

Its like an Aladdins cave of classics. I wonder though what lurks in the various corrugated tin sheds!!

I found the receipt for when he bought the 1300 new - it did come from Richard Mullock's garage. Talking to a mate today who used to work at Peppers (which became Oliver Rix and then James Edwards, in Nantwich) they had a storage compound between that site and the nearby coach depot where the new cars were kept, and he'd often have to get cars out for other dealers. Peppers was previously Slack and Mickle, which by coincidence is where my Dad bought his previous car, a new 1100 in 1966.

I trust you'll be making lots of visits in the near future to keep an eye on things?
