Christmas Day somewhere on the A49 travelling north near Oulton Park, a GT40 in Gulf Oil colours. Gorgeous! The sad thing is even if I was as wealthy as a Bill Gates, I'm 6'5" with a bad back and therefore would never be able to sit in my boyhood poster car... Crying or Very sad

Yes, I have similar problems, 6' 5" tall and although my back is reasonably okay most sports cars, modern or classic, are out of the question because i simply don't fold up as well as I used to.
Morris 10/4 circa 1933, seen the other day on the A6 between Chorley and Preston.

We were passed in the village yesterday by a lovely WW2 Willys jeep, the chap looked pretty cold driving it, he was well wrapped up!

Brown Morris Minor on the back of a flatbed this morning, disturbingly heading down a road that goes towards a local scrap metal dealer. There may be other things down there too. From the distance I was it, it didn't look bad enough to be scrapping it.

Might have to go and have a socially-distanced look, when I next have an essential trip to make

A Mini Clubman, mustardy yellow colour, heading north on the A467 just outside Abertillery this afternoon.

A very loud sounding car pulled into our road this afternoon, when I looked out the windo to my surprise it was a chap making deliveries in a white Ford Sierra estate!!

Riley Monaco??

Bad guess.
Did a DVLA search afterwards and it is a 1932 Alvis, 1442cc

That engine size doesn't appear on here.

I don't buy '32 Alvis; at least not the body which, in my opinion, is much more like a Riley San Remo from the late 'twenties.

The FWD Alvis 12/75 might fit the bill. It was 1482 cc.

Maybe, but the fake hood irons (found on Alvis saloons of the period) are absent - as is the front quarter light. The general look of the body in question is, I would say, somewhat 'perpendicular'; so perhaps a bit too old fashioned for 1932.

Nice spot Mike, I'm sure I have photos of it somewhere at the local VSCC meet. A front view can be seen on another site: http://www.weaverwander.co.uk/2014-gallery-2/
