I saw the green A7 Ruby while out in the Moggy yesterday, probably the same one.

A 1970s lwb Toyota FJ pickup parked in town (not in its usual parking place), a white E-Type S1 roadster, and finally a mid-30s Derby Bentley saloon, the latter driving through town.

It was in Langport, or just down the road from there, that the Commer was retrieved from.

Interesting convoy of classics and moderns passed through Betws y Coed today.

It was the North Wales annual run of predominantly classic Fords comprising forty or more participants. The cars varied from 105E Anglias, all marks of Ford Escorts including Mexicos, Twin Cams, RS2000s, Capris and the most recent RS Focuses.

My cousin's husband, Tony, was taking part in his newly restored 1986 Ford Capri Laser. The "pay to enter" event is arranged every year to raise money for charity and the raffle prizes were interesting.
One was a signed T shirt from the CAR SOS team and a car valeting kit with the CAR SOS emblem.
Another was a signed large photograph by former rally driver Gwyndaf Evans from his Ford days.

I learned one fact from Tony about events such as these is that if the number of cars taking part exceeds fifty (or perhaps sixty) then the "run" must be notified to the local Police authority and a police car must accompany and escort the convoy throughout the route on public roads.

I didn't know this. Did any of you?

I am not a frequent poster to this topic because I just cannot see the point in "I saw a 1972 Mini going through our village" or something like that.

However yesterday early evening when we sat behind a lovely drink in front of a restaurant, we saw a very rare glorious convertible Citroën DS passing by. An older gentleman with his wife (probably) next to him. What a great sight. Such a distinguished automobile, not aggressive or loud, just beautiful.
